Quicken 2009 Deluxe [DOWNLOAD] Reviews:
I have used quicken since 1993, and have been dismayed at the lessening of the product as the years went by. I only use one function and the only thing that makes quicken worth it for me.
I keep my bank account in it, and it tells me how much money I have for the rest of the (month/day/week/time remaining to next paycheck).. etc.

I have no need to know the exact dollars and cents I am spending on gas, electricity, or other essentials.
Now, my biggest question is why does the download version cost $12 more than the CD version? What is wrong here?

The download version can’t be returned, and if your computer crashes you loose it. I found a CD version that delivered was $17 less than this downloaded version. I can return it, re-install it, and throw it away when I am done with it. I can do none of those things with the downloaded version.

I own and use version 2004, I haven’t manually entered data for years now. I love the convenience and accuracy, but not their replacement games. Which is little more than temporary software rental! When they blocked the automatic transaction download, I found a way around it to do it manually rather than upgrade. It takes several extra clicks of the mouse, but well worth it. Now I see they continue to create newer versions and telling their customers they MUST upgrade, untrue. I’m no computer geek, but I’ve found out how to avoid their constant changes to force consumers to buy and buy the same program over and over again. I’ll stick to my 5 year old program. I back it up often on my external harddrive and it runs like a charm. I keep three checking accounts and my visa on it up to date and it balances every time.
