This lens adapter makes it possible to mount an OM system lens – a compact system lens used with our traditional SLR film cameras

This lens adapter makes it possible to mount any existing Four Thirds lens on the E-P1. AF shooting using Live View is possible with lenses featuring contrast AF compatibility. When a contrast AF incompatible lens is used, the AF assist function engages.

To capture images, D-SLR cameras incorporate a device called an image sensor (CCD, MOS, etc.) that captures light in the form of electrical signals. However, since the image sensor’s characteristics differ from those of film, a lens optimized for film photography may perform poorly with an image sensor. Developed explicitly to fulfill the potential of digital technology, the Four Thirds system is a new, open standard created with an eye to the future of DSLR cameras. The core design concept of the Four Thirds system is to facilitate optimization of the size, performance, and extendibility of digital cameras and lenses. In addition, a standardized lens mount allows photographers to freely combine interchangeable lenses and cameras from different manufacturers. This is the key feature of the Four Thirds system, the one that makes it possible to explore the full potential of digital photography.
The optics incorporates cemented lens of ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens and HR (High Refractive index) lens, which have big different refractive indices, in order to remove the chromatic aberration. In addition, the optics with two double-sided aspherical lenses ensures high image quality. Close-up shooting at the tele-end is possible at a minimum distance of around 15cm from the lens front. It enables close-up photography up to the max. image magnification of 0.24x (0.48x: 35mm equivalent). All the lens surfaces except for the cemented ones are multi-coated to ensure clear image quality. The multi-coating also ensures clear images even on backlit shots taken with the sun in the frame by reducing ghosts and flares.

The standard 3x zoom comes in an extremely compact size with an overall length of just 43.5mm. Covering wide-angle to a moderate telephoto, this lens is suitable for a variety of applications, including day-to-day shooting and traveling. With a digital-dedicated design as well as multi-coated lens components, this Micro Four Thirds lens boasts very high imaging performance.

This wide-angle pancake lens has a convenient focal length (equivalent to 34mm on a 35mm camera) for shooting everything from landscapes and portraits to close-ups. A slim design, with an overall length of just 22.5mm, ensures the camera remains compact and easy to carry even when the lens is mounted. With its digital-dedicated design and superior performance, this lens maximizes the camera’s performance for clear, high-quality imaging.

Optical viewfinder for use with the 17mm pancake lens VF-1. This externally-attached optical viewfinder supports shooting with the pancake lens. It uses a bright 17mm frame to enable comfortable picture composition.

The FL-14 is an easy-to-operate external flash with a design that matches the E-P1. With an equivalent GN (Guide Number) of 14, you can accomplish flash shooting with stable light and optimum brightness. Compatible with all Olympus DSLR and point-&-shoot cameras equipped with integrated hot shoes.A stylish metal finish of the optional FL-14 flash gives the camera a retro-look reminiscent of the classic Olympus Pen F. The FL-14 matches perfectly to the external design of the E-P1 and it expands the oppertunities not only under low light conditions, but gives also creative options in nearly every situation. The Fl14 is optimized for use with Micro Four Thirds camera models, such as the Olympus PEN E-P1. Guide number 14 (ISO 100) Use two AAA batteries (recommended – alkaline or NiMH rechargeable)
